Work has taken a sudden nosedive, unlike anything I've seen since 9/11 and the the dot-com crash killed business all those years ago. It's been pretty hard for me to be upbeat and feel like I want to be out amongst folks and I have been avoiding going out. Last year was great and I did put some money away but without work this money goes pretty quickly. Mortgage, taxes, insurance, utilities, food and all those little expenses that add up. I'm quite good at cutting out non essential stuff but if this goes on more than this year I'll be looking at making some drastic changes. I'm particularly low today, I got a call from a client canceling the week of work I had with them in May, these are no small players canceling this work. I am better off than a lot of people but not forever. There aren't enough focus groups in the world to make up for this downturn.
